USAID-Tourism Agency partnership: Moldova must become successful touristic destination
The USAID Moldova’s competitiveness project and the Tourism Agency have signed a Memorandum to support the tourism development and promote Moldova’s image as a touristic destination from 2016 through 2020.
The document has been signed at the inauguration of a photo exhibition “Descoperă Moldova” (Discover Moldova,) in a Chisinau hotel, mirroring this country’s touristic treasures.
“The USAID backs Moldova’s efforts to promote and support a strong economy, diversified and export-oriented, by improving the competitiveness and efficiency in key industries. The tourism is the industry seeing the most rapid and steady growth in the world," said USAISD senior project manager Sergiu Botezatu.
The photo exhibition consists of works by 11 photographers from Italy, France, Romania and Moldova, who have participated in a photo tour around Moldova.
“Due to the support from the USAID, the Moldovan tourism has seen significant development. We’ll further cooperate with our strategic international partner to enhance the competiveness of the Moldovan touristic products, to position this country as an international tourism destination, and, consequently, to attract tourists,” said Stanislav Rusu, the general manager of the Tourism Agency.
