President of the European Commission for Democracy through Law (Venice Commission) Gianni Buquicchio visits Chisinau on December 19-20 at the invitation of Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanîi. The delegation also includes Simona Granata-Menghini, Deputy Secretary of the Commission.

According to the Parliament's press service, Gianni Buquicchio will meet first with Zinaida Greceanîi and later with the President and members of the Legal Commission for appointments and immunities. The Venice Commission delegation will also hold meetings with judges and representatives of civil society.

On the second day of the visit, the President and Deputy Secretary of the Venice Commission will meet with Moldovan Premier Ion Chicu and Justice Minister Fadei Nagacevschi. Gianni Buquicchio and Simona Granata-Menghini will also meet with members of the Superior Council of Magistracy and with the judges of the Supreme Court of Justice.

A press conference will be organized at the end of the visit.
