Vitalie Gamurari: I salute the political decision to declare Rogozin persona non grata
Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin was declared persona non grata on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. The decision was made at today's Government meeting.
"It is a very normal practice and you will not find in international practice the situation when a high-ranking person representing the Government is not also speaking on behalf of his state. Moldova has done everything possible to diplomatically refrain from making hostile statements, taking into account the relations and agreements signed between the Republic of Moldova and the Russian Federation.
"We adopted two approaches, but Mr. Rogozin did not want to expressly acknowledge them. These are some very personal sanctions imposed against Mr. Rogozin which show the Republic of Moldova's position, who only asked the Russian diplomat to coordinate all his actions with the Chisinau authorities. I salute the political decision to declare Rogozin persona non grata on the territory of the Republic of Moldova," said Vitalie Gamurari, director of the ULIM Doctorate School.
PUBLIKA.MD reminds that: In May of this year, five other Russian diplomats were declared non-grata on the territory of the Republic of Moldova. The decision was made on the basis of information received from the secret services.
