War heroes commemorated at event marking 26th anniversary since the Transnistria War (Photo)
Transnistria War heroes were yesterday commemorated in a concert. The event marked the 26th anniversary since the conflict and was attended by veterans and relatives of the victims.
The stage was taken by Ion Rață, who sung with Border Guard Orchestra and Carabineer Orchestra.
Those who attended the event claim that the songs were breathtaking:
"It was a patriotic concert, proving that both those who sung, as well as those who listened, were filled with emotion. Such songs makes us stronger."
"I begun understanding what our veterans felt and saw the hardships they had to endure."
"It was amazing. We commemorates our fallen comrades. We are very thankful."
The event was organized by Ministry of Internal Affairs.
"It is very important to hold such events and we will request our veterans to take part in patriotic activities dedicated to the young generations" Minister of Internal Affairs, Alexandru Jizdan said.
The Transnistria War broke out on 2nd March 1992. The exact number of those who fell on the battlefield is unknown to this day, but is estimated to be 300 soldiers and 400 civilians from Moldova and over 800 people from Transnistria.
