ANSA, Moldova's food safety agency, confirms the presence of the swine fever virus in the north of Moldova.
Veterinarians discovered the disease last week in the village of Rublenita, Soroca district.
7 pigs were infected, but they were killed and burnt.
The village is in quarantine.
Moldova's food safety agency successfully annihilated a swine flu hotbed later last year in the northern district of Donduseni, which is close to Ukraine.
Villagers from there acknowledged they had brought pork from Ukraine, where numerous hotbeds were reported.
