New potential swine fever hotbed in northern Moldova

A new possible swine fever hotbed is reported in the northern district of Soroca, at the border with Ukraine.
According to district president Ghenadie Munteanu, the virus was detected in seven pigs in the village of Rublenita. The animals were killed and incinerated.
The Food Safety Agency will have the test results tomorrow.
A swine fever hotbed was uncovered in the northern village of Donduşeni in September last year. The village was quarantined three months, and then the food safety watchdog declared the locality free of the virus.
