The celebration of Romanian language is celebrated today throughout the country. In Chisinau, officials started the event with depositing flowers at the Ştefan cel Mare şi Sfânt monument.

The head of state continues not to recognize the decision of the Constitutional Court in 2013.

The High Court established that the Declaration of Independence was stronger than the Constitution in the matter of the state language.

Moreover, in 2011, several Romanian associations and organizations in Serbia, Bulgaria, Hungary and Ukraine determined that 31 August, the day when Moldova celebrated Romanian Language Day, would be a national holiday for these communities Romanian and be celebrated in all these communities starting 2012.

They also called for other Romanian associations and organizations all over the world to proclaim 31 August as the Day of Romanian Language and to celebrate it as well.
