Why Acting General Prosecutor Robu attends parliament meeting? Dodon explains
Interim General Prosecutor Dumitru Robu will participate the parliament meeting to debate draft law regarding the changes in procedure to select new general prosecutor, President Igor Dodon announced.
"General Prosecutors' Office will present today. The fight with corruption is assumed by the government which is run on citizen's money. They are waiting the problem to be solved. The government needs a strategy to tackle corruption", mentioned Igor Dodon.
Publika recalls that last Friday, government approved the amendments to the Law of the Prosecutor's Office, which stipulate that the pre-selection is to be made by a commission of Justice Ministry. Then, this commission will ask Superior Council of Prosecutors to select one of two candidates. Finally, the head of state will confirm the general prosecutor.
