In a small and lightened space, at the edge of Mereni village from Anenii Noi district, three local masters make Moldovan traditional blouses (ie).

The shirts are handmade. These are made of fabric and embroidery. The founder of the workshop is Lidia Bojescu. Ten years ago, the woman took a loan and started an affair. First of all, she was repairing clothes and then started to make them.

"An ie (shirt) is made within seven, eight months or even one year", tells Lidia Bojescu, craftswoman. 

The traditional ie is made of cotton. The woman says she inherited the skills from her grandmother.

The price of an ie can even reach one thousand EURO. But, because it is a high price, Lidia also makes simpler shirts so everybody can afford them.

"I started to embroider in the 80s. I worked in different places, but now I am in Moldova."

Lidia restores an ie that has over one hundred years. The popular artist can't wait forward UNESCO to include the ie in the universal heritage.

"We visit the National History Museum as often as possible. We want to include our ie in the cultural heritage", said Lidia Bojescu.
