A 48-year-old woman from a village in the southern district of Leova murdered her uncle with an axe last Sunday. She then went on hiding in another village.

The neighbors discovered the corpse on Monday and called the police.

The niece has been detained and has pleaded guilty. She lived together with her 57-year-old uncle.

They were unemployed. Now the niece faces 15 years of jail.
