Woman leaves teary voicemail for closed ice cream shop after plans to eat 1.5ltr on New Year's Eve scuppered
A woman who wanted to ring in the New Year with a vat of her favourite ice cream couldn't keep her emotions in check when she got to the shop and realised it was closed, informs mirror.co.uk.Â
The unknown ice cream lover broke down in tears as she left a voicemail for the Gelato Messina store in Fitzroy, Australia, as she explained that her New Year's plans had been totally scuppered.
The store posted audio of the message on their Facebook page alongside the caption: "This is a real voicemail left at our Fitzroy store."
The woman starts: "Are you really sorry that you're closed at 6pm on New Year's Eve?
"Are you? Because you should be. My New Year's Eve us now ruined. I had plans to buy at least a litre-and-a-half of Messina, as I do every week...
"And sit on my couch and eat it and the make New Year's resolutions to never eat it again. And you know what?
"Because you are closed, it's gonna make my New Year's resolution of not eating Messina so much easier... I am very, very upset right now."
Proving just how upset she is, the woman then breaks down in tears.
The voicemail has now been posted on the company's Facebook page in a bid to track the woman down.
It has now been viewed more than 270,00 times, although some believe it could just be a publicity stunt planned by Gelato Messina.
One viewer wrote: "Definitely a marketing thing but still funny as f***."
But the company later replied: "It's a real message. Perhaps not entirely legit emotion... but fantastic display. Full points."
