World War II artillery ammunition were neutralized by the bomb disposal unit in Plop-Ştiubei village, Căuşeni district.
"The explosives were discovered by the local forest ranger, who immediately called the police. At their request, a team from the bomb disposal unit were dispatched to the forest located near Plop-Ştiubei village. After searching the grounds, soldiers managed to discover 24 explosives, artillery projectile of 45 mm caliber, mines and RGD-33 grenades. All ammunition was evacuated and destroyed under maximum security" Bomb Disposal chief, lieutenant colonel Adrian Efros said.
At the same time, the bomb disposal unit was called to Cobusca Veche village, Anenii Noi, where a villager found a F1 grenade in her garden, during spring agriculture works.
Since the beginning of the year, the bomb disposal unit of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Moldova neutralized 80 explosives all over the country.
