Police officer risks 10 years of jail for asking bribe of $50
A police officer from the southern town of Comrat was caught red-handed by officers of the Internal Affairs Service (SPIA) of the Interior Ministry as he was receiving a bribe.
According to the informant, the officer allegedly asked 1,000 lei ($50) from him to release a car from the police’s parking lot.
The police officer has been detained for 72 h. If found guilty, he may serve up to 10 years of jail.
