Business man to face judges in case of extortion of money and prejudice of state budget
Prosecutor General's Office completed the investigation initiated at the end of September this year, for extortion and fake statements and has sent the case to trial.
Prosecutors established that administration of the enterprise, although he was informed that he is not entitled to apply and receive grants from the Agency for Payments and Intervention for Agriculture (AIPA), as he already had a grant through the Line Financing for Energy Efficiency in Moldova, developed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and financed by the European Union, he stole 950,000 lei from the state budget.
In order to recover the damage caused to the state budget by the crime, prosecutors have seized the assets of the defendant.
If he will be recognized guilty, he risks up to 15 years imprisonment with deprivation of the right to occupy certain positions or to practice certain activities for up to 5 years.
