Moldova, Switzerland to cooperate in public healthcare
The Government approved in its meeting today, the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Moldova and the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, on the implementation of the project "Reducing the burden of non-communicable diseases", the government’s communication and media relations department has reported, informs Moldpres.
According to the document, Switzerland will grant financial support in the amount of 4 million 430 thousand Swiss francs in order to strengthen diagnostic capacity of non-communicable diseases, their prevention and control, particularly in rural areas. The aid will be provided through technical assistance projects, training programs for health professionals and organizing outreach activities. As such, by disseminating best practices at national and district levels, it is intended to ensure a more effective monitoring of non-communicable diseases and treatment improving at the level of primary health care.
The project will be implemented by existing national or working groups that will be created with the support of the Swiss Tropical Institute for Public Health. The ultimate goal of the project is to facilitate access to quality care and improving health indicators at national level in domain.
