The girls were aged 13 to 14 years, and the teacher has 56 years.

The suspects colleagues told us the the teacher in a good pedagogue and works for more than 25 years in the field. The man is married and his wife works in the same school.

 “We worked together for years, I know him as an intelligent teacher, quite harsh I would say and we were really shocked by all that happened, by all that we heard at least” , says Rodica Procopii, a teacher.

The mayor says the girls are from respectable families. Even though their mothers work abroad the girls are exemplary and very well educated.

“The girls are very quiet. They don’t usually pay attention to the fuss around them, don’t engage in any kind of abuse and you never hear bad stuff about them.” , stated Paulina Ciupac, the village mayor.

The case reached the prosecutors.

“The man is suspected of sexual harassment. If proven guilty he risks up to 3 years in prison” , stated Ion Prodan, the Floresti district prosecutor.

Thursday, the officials interrogated the persons concerned in this case, and today will decide whether a criminal case will be filed.

According to the ministry of education, since the beginning of the school year the re have been 5.600 cases filed with cases of child harassment. This number is 17% higher compared to last year.

Last summer, a teacher from Ungheni town was arrested on suspicion of perverse gestures towards minors.
