Food safety watchdog, doctors to verify food quality in kindergartens

The quality of the food consumed in schools and kindergartens will be assessed by ANSA (food safety agency) inspectors and medics. Following an instruction by Prime Minister Pavel Filip a new series of controls starts today and will last till the first decade of April.
Then, the Health Ministry will present the results of the investigation. The authorities will also draft proposals to modify the legislation to harshen the control over the food delivered to education institutions.
On March 1, the Premier paid a visit to a kindergarten in Chisinau and uncovered the food was cooked in unclean conditions and expired eggs. Its manager quit later.
