Autopsy conclusion: Andrei Braguţa got sick and died of pneumonia
Andrei Braguţa died of pneumonia, this was finally shown in forensic results.
Investigators say that the man got sick in the penitentiary, because he stayed in the cell without clothes and was not offered blanket.
"According to the forensic expert report, the death of the citizen Braguţa occurred as a result of respiratory insufficiency caused by bilateral purulent bronchopneumonia, and this disease developed during the period when the citizen Braguţa was already in state custody.
"The appearance of illness were around 4 days before his death," the head of the anti-torture department said, the General Prosecutor's Office, Ion Caracuian.
According to prosecutor Ion Caracuian, Andrei Braguţa was beaten while in the penitentiary. He was dead not due to the injure but the bad condition he was detained.
"Actually Braguţa was naked for whole period he was detained, without clothes, without blankets."
Representatives of the City Police refused to come up with a reaction on the subject.
Andrei Braguţa's lawyer Vadim Vieru said he was examining the results of forensic expertise, which he would coordinate with international experts.
Subsequently, the defense will decide what measures to take.
Three pre-trial detention isolators have received 20 days of arrest, and one of the victim's cellmates will be in the penitentiary for 30 days.
Following the service inquiries, the deputy head of Penitentiary 16 and the chief doctor of penitentiary 13 were dismissed.
Andrei Braguţa died on 29 August in Pruncul Penitentiary.
