European officials have appreciated the progress made by the Eastern Partners since the last summit in 2015. Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu wrote on social network that the effort Moldova made has been paid off.

"The efforts of the Republic of Moldova have not been overlooked by the European fora. Despite the negative lobbying made by some Moldovan politicians yesterday, the Foreign Affairs Committee of the European Parliament recommended that Moldova be among the three states benefiting from trust funds for infrastructure projects, the possibility of joining the European customs and energy union or the cancellation of roaming tariffs.
