Voting twice or more is prohibited by law and risks fines. The use of false ballots and identity papers is also sanctioned.
For these deviations, the Penal Code provides for fines of up to 37,000 lei or imprisonment for up to 2 years.
In order to secure and ensure the transparency of the voting process, as well as to prevent electoral fraud, in the parliamentary elections this year, the sections were equipped with cameras for the first time.
The members of the Central Electoral Commission assured that voting by the polling stations does not violate the secret of voting. Their installation and activity will not concern cabinets, voter rolls, will not affect the privacy of voters and their personal data.
The images will not be transmitted online but stored on a dedicated device just to be used as evidence in the event of possible electoral litigation.
PUBLIKA.MD 14 political parties and an electoral bloc entered the race for the parliamentary elections in the national constituency.
325 electoral contestants are fighting for the seats of deputies in the 51 uninominal constituencies. 269 are supported by parties, and 56 are independent. They may be elected only by voters who have their domicile in the uninominal constituency in which they compete. Each one will be elected.
In the country, 48 constituencies were established. Three others were created abroad: one in the East, one in the West, and another in the United States and Canada. In the last two are also registered the most competitors - 13 candidates.
