Thousand people consulted oncologists during February within campaign A Doctor for You
Over three thousand people have consulted 35 oncologists in February within campaign A Doctor for You.
Around 699 people were identified in the cancer risk group, and other 270 people received additional investigative recommendations at both Diagnostic Advisory Center of the IMSP Institute of Oncology and other specialists from the District Sanitary Institutions.
Specialists in the 11 multidisciplinary teams have conducted information sessions to identify causes and risk factors in cancer, oncological screening (breast, cervical cancer) and early diagnosis, attended by doctors from primary and specialized health care of outpatient departments.
Moreover, since October 2018, around 7,256 screening investigations have been conducted in mobile mammograms. Following the assessment of the imaging reports, about 625 pathologies were identified: 14 cancer cases, 54 benign tumors and 365 other mastopathies requiring dynamic monitoring.
Within 2019, screening activities for women in high-risk breast cancer groups will continue under the Doctor for You program.
