CEC: Runoff election awaited in 380 localities in two weeks
Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has presented the preliminary data of local elections on October 20. There were 41.68% of the total voting citizens who cast their ballots on Sunday. Mayors were elected in 518 localities in Moldova after the first round of elections.
Moldova's political parties have gained the following results after the elections:
Democratic Party (PDM) 191 mayors
Socialist Party (PSRM) 124 mayors
Bloc ACUM 82 mayors
Liberal Democratic Party (PDLM) 26 mayors
ŞOR Party 13 mayors
Our Party 10 mayors
Communist Party (PCRM) 4 mayors
National Unity Party 2 mayors
Romanian Popular Party 1 mayors
Liberal Party 1 mayors
Independent candidates: 64 mayors
There are 20 localities where the mayor's office was ran by the only candidate. Each of these candidates gained 100% votes.
According to CEC data, the second round of local elections will be organized in 380 localities. The number of candidates who will enter the second round on November 3:
PSRM 175 candidates
PDM 173 candidates
ACUM 167 candidates
Our Party 20 candidates
PLDM 44 candidates
PCRM 16 candidates
ŞOR Party 38 candidates
Independent candidates 84
General local elections were held in Moldova on Sunday, 20 October, #ALEGEPUBLIKA.
Four uninominal constituencies also held new parliamentary elections. The voters from constituencies no. 17, 33, 48 and those in the district no. 50, Western Europe.
