Child suspected of carrying COVID-19 tested negative - health ministry
The two-year-old child who was suspected of carrying COVID-19 tested negative for the virus, according to the representatives of the Health Ministry.
The child was admitted to the Hospital for Infectious Diseases Toma Ciorba in Chisinau yesterday with coronavirus symptoms. He and his parents returned in Moldova on March 1 from an Italian risk area.
According to the Moldovan authorities, the child got sick in Italy and was diagnosed with angina and respiratory infection. He was hospitalized for three days as a result.
His condition worsened when he returned to Moldova and even had COVID-19 symptoms. The virus test result will be announced tonight. His parents didn't show any symptoms but are in quarantine.
At present, there is no infection case confirmed in Moldova, according to the ministry.
