PM Chicu: Moldova could resume a lot of economic activities by May 15
Many economic activities could be resumed at the end of April, before the state of emergency expires. The announcement was made by Prime Minister Ion Chicu, in a special edition on Publika TV.
According to him, the restrictions could be lifted earlier than May 15 due to the constant new cases of coronavirus infection.
"This does not exclude a potential new wave but its probability is very low, if we follow carefully these strict rules for another two weeks. We hope that on April 27, the vast majority of economic activities will be possibly resumed, "said PM Ion Chicu.
Although in March, President Igor Dodon promised that all the medical workers would be tested for coronavirus, PM Chicu ruled out this possibility for now.
"The capacities of the laboratories and the medical system in Moldova are limited”, he mentioned.
Ion Chicu also spoke about the rehabilitation of the Eternity Memorial which would cost the government 2.3 million lei. The decision, taken in a state of emergency, sparkled a wave of criticism.
