Moldova to receive €70M loan to fight COVID-19

Moldova will receive a € 70 million loan to mitigate the impact of COVID-19 on human health and the workforce. The Ministry of Finance and the Council of Europe Development Bank have signed a loan agreement to this effect.
Most of the money will be allocated to Health - 40 million euros. The money will be used for the purchase of medical equipment and consumables and for the rehabilitation and transformation of medical facilities. Another EUR 30 million will be redirected to support small and medium-sized enterprises affected by the crisis.
The money will cover budget expenditures in the period 2020-2022. The interest rate will be decided on each installment disbursed.
