The Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry has prepared a draft governmental decree, which implies the allocation of 45 million lei from the reserve fund of the Cabinet of Minister in support of farmers, whose orchards suffered from late April frosts, Infotag reports.

The document is also regulating the order of providing money for mitigating the consequences of frosts and is shouldering the responsibility for funds’ using on the Ministry.

Frosts from April 26/27 in the north of the republic affected Briceni, Ocnita, Donduseni, Edinet, Drochia, Glodeni and partially Soroca raions, as a result of which more than 6.5 thousand ha of orchards suffered, while the damage is assessed at 207 million lei. Besides orchards, sugar beet and soybean crops were affected.
