Austrian Government donated to Emergency Situations Inspectorate a batch of protective equipment
The Austrian Government has donated to the Chisinau Emergency Situations Inspectorate a batch of protective equipment against COVID-19. The value of the donation amounts to over 16 thousand euros.
"I really hope that all these products will be helpful and we have the chance to meet again when the pandemic ends", said Christine Freilinger, Ambassador of the Republic of Austria to Moldova.
"This is a great example of how the European team works to support partners, friends, neighbors of the European Union. I am glad that the Austrian Interior Ministry offered this support for the Republic of Moldova", mentioned Peter Mihalko, Ambassador of the European Union in Moldova.
"Our employees are present wherever the quarantine is located. On behalf of the entire staff of the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, I would like to express our sincere gratitude to our partners and our friends from Austria, for this support given in these dark days ", said Mihail Harabagiu, head of IGSU of MIA.
Moldovan-Austrian cooperation is based on the Intergovernmental Agreement on Mutual Assistance in the Event of Natural or Technogenic Disasters. The Vienna authorities also donated equipment to IGSU employees in 2008 and 2010, when Moldova was affected by the floods.
