Budget deficit in Moldova's secessionist area rising
The budget deficit in the Transnistrian region goes on rising. In the first half of the year, the difference between the incomes and expensdes was twice as big as last year: the equivalent of 2.3 million Moldovan lei.
The Tiraspol administration explains the growth of the budget deficit through bigger expenses of local and regional budgets. They rose by the equivalent of 1 billion Moldovan lei.
Meanwhile, the industrial output went down 9.5 % year on year.
The biggest tax-paying companies also paid less in taxes. In 2015, the area passed a budgetary deficit of 40%.
