Businesses fined for allowing smoking in public places
Four businesses were fined 7,000 lei each, for allowing smoking in public places.Sanitary prescriptions and protocols have been applied.
According to the National Center for Public Health, the lack of "smoking" warning and the presence of ashtrays on the tables were among the discovered irregularities in cafes. In one case, it was established that the local government allowed the promotion and advertising of tobacco products.
On May 31st, the anti-tobacco law came into effect, banning smoking in the workplace, inside bars, restaurants or nightclubs. Fines for breaking the law stands at 1,400 lei for individuals and up to 10,000 lei - for legal persons.
