Andrei Nastase, the candidate of bloc ACUM for Chisinau City Hall has made the first statements after the polling stations were closed. 

"I will wait for the official results and make the declarations. I don't want to comment on the exit poll results at the moment", said Andrei Nastase. 

Meanwhile, the Socialist candidate Ion Ceban stated he was looking for a victory. 

"We made every effort to have a clean and successful campaign. We await for a victory. I think we managed to convince the Chisinau citizens. 

We have every voters to thank for casting their ballots. We will work hard for every citizen no matter whom they voted for", said Ion Ceban.  

According to exit poll, Ion Ceban picked up 37.10% of the votes, and Andrei Nastase obtained 37%.

The second round of local elections took place on Sunday, November 3, in the 384 localities of Moldova, where no candidate for mayor had obtained more than half of the valid votes.

The voting procedure started at 07:00 and ended at 21:00.
