Case of driver of former first deputy General Prosecutor sent to court
The case of the driver of the former first deputy General Prosecutor was sent to court. He is accused of influence peddling.
In 20101, when he was working in the Botanica Prosecutor's Office, he received 20,000 euro from a man living in the same village as him, penally investigated for the detainment of a person.
The defendant affirmed that he might influence the prosecutor to exempt him from the punishment.
Afterwards, the person who gave the money was sentenced to 25 years in jail for double homicide, swindling and forgery of documents.
If the driver will be found guilty, he might receive 7 years in jail.
Now the 45-year-old man is placed in preventive arrest.
