China is willing to continue supporting Republic of Moldova in defense areas
Military cooperation between Moldova and China was discussed today by Defense Minister Eugen Sturza and Chinese Ambassador to Moldova, Zhang Yinghong, at a meeting held at the Ministry of Defense.
The officials have discussed the actual stage of bilateral relations in terms of defense, accentuating military training and combat casualty care training, as well as exchanged experience in the area of IT and transmission.
Therefore, Minister of Defense expressed his gratitude toward People's Republic of China for the offered assistance in training Moldovan officers, specifying that so far, 24 soldiers had the chance to study in specialized schools from China.
Eugen Sturza has also appreciated the logistic assistance for the Military - logistics and medical transport units, computer and communications technology, video conferencing equipment, water purification stations and medical equipment, with a total worth of 18 million yuans (30 million lei).
In his turn, Ambassador Zhang Yinghong expressed China's willingness to continue supporting defense institution of Republic of Moldova.
At the end, the officials have agreed to intensify military cooperation, by unfolding and initiating projects benefiting both countries.
Ministry of Defense from Republic of Moldova and People's Republic of China have singed a military collaboration agreement in Beijing, on 23 June 2002.
