Today is the Day of Silence. Candidates for the mayoral position will not be able to make an electoral campaign. The only battle will be given by posters, leaflets, street panels or in virtual space. Legislation prohibits electoral agitation and the appearance of candidates on programs.
Also, electoral contestants can no longer spend money on their electoral funds. Otherwise, they are liable to fines of up to one thousand lei.
Tomorrow, the polling stations will be opened from 7:00. Local elections will be monitored by over 700 national and international observers. At the same time, the police will ensure security and public order to prevent possible incidents. Law enforcement officers will supervise each polling station within a radius of one hundred meters.
