Defense Ministry begun preparing to implement new Veteran IDs
Defense Ministry launched actions to prepare the implementation of new Veteran IDs and the replacement of old ones.
Therefore, according to Secretary of State for developing HR policies, military education and resource management, Vladimir Iliev, among the first actions taken by the Defense Ministry and Public Services Agency was signing a contract to manufacture the new IDs.
Here, an interdepartmental Commission was established to ensure that the new Veteran IDs will be changed and issued, approved by the normative department, which is managing its activity, as well as gives instruction on how the new Veteran IDs are issued, handed over, withdrawn, registered and kept.
The source mentioned that further the commission, which begun its activity on April 1, will evaluate the number of War Veterans and by December 2020 all new Veteran IDs will be issued.
Vladimir Iliev explained that in 2018, 15 000 new IDs will be manufactures. Therefore, by May 1 will be created 300 pieces, by the end of the second trimester - 4 900 pieces, by the end of the third trimester - 4 900 pieces. Another 4 900 IDs will be made by the end of the fourth trimester (no later than December 20).
The old Veteran IDs will be changed with the news ones within the ""Memory.Honor.Respect" plan, aiming to consolidate trust and enhance social protection and rights of veterans, those who fought in Afghanistan and for the integrity and independence of Republic of Moldova, approved by the Government's decision No. 52nd from April 19 2016.
The decision upon new Veteran IDs was made by the Government on February 22 2018.
