Early Intervention Section opened in Balti for children with developmental disabilities
Children with developmental disabilities until the age of three will benefit from free medical assistance in Balti. The Early Intervention Section was opened at a rehabilitation center in the city. The little ones will be helped by a team of specialists, consisting of speech therapist, psychologist, pediatrician and neurologist.
"It is important to work with the family, to explain to their parents that their child has a problem that it can be very serious if no action is taken," said Irina Popova, a psychologist.
Children and their parents will be directed to the department by local family physicians. The worst will also be able to benefit from accommodation over a month.
"We are very pleased that finally little children will benefit from many services we unfortunately can not offer."
The opening of the post is possible thanks to the financial support provided by the NGO Child Community Community, which has allocated over 400,000 lei in this respect.
"The sooner we intervene in situations of a problem, the better they can recover", said Liliana Rotaru, director of CCF Moldova.
The Early Intervention Section in Balti is the second in the country. The first was inaugurated in Chisinau.
"The opening of this center, which is also a point of reference for the northern districts, is still insufficient. We propose to have such centers in each district," said Boris Gâlca, state secretary at the Ministry of Health.
The children from 11 districts in the north of the country will benefit from the services of the Balti section.
