Earthquake near Moldova
An earthquake with a magnitude of 4.2 happened today in the seismically active Vrancea region in Romania, says the National Institute of Earth Physics, reports digi24.ro.
The earthquake happened at 11:52 a.m., 140 kilometers below the surface and had a Richter scale of 4.2 in the region of Vrancea.
The cities closest to the epicenter are Onesti, Foscani, and Sfantu Gheorghe.
Seven earthquakes have happened in Romania since the beginning of February so far, the Richter magnitudes ranging from 2.3 to 4.2.
Last year, two earthquakes with magnitudes of 5.3 have happened in Vrancea, the first one happened on the 24th of September at 2:11 a.m. and the second one on the 28th of December at 1:20 a.m. local time.
