The Moldovan attaché to the U.S., Colonel Vitalie Micov, was also accredited in Canada.

The ceremony was held at the headquarters of the Department of National Defense (DAD) in Ottawa, with the participation of the Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Canada, Ala Beleavschi, and the head of the DAD Foreign Affairs Division, Colonel Acton Kilby.

Colonel Vitalie Micov will work to ensure the effective cooperation between Moldova - Canada defense structures, identify new opportunities for partnership between the National Army of the Republic of Moldova and the Canadian Armed Forces.

At Ottawa, the military diplomat had a series of meetings with DAD officials to identify cooperative projects between both defense institutions to continue the reforms initiated by the Defense Ministry's leadership.

In October 2018, Colonel Vitalie Micov was designated by the US Department of Defense as a military attaché. The decision was to promote the strategic dialogue on the defense dimension between the Republic of Moldova and the U.S.
