Public health and educational institutions will work together in the field of child protection with the relevant authorities and police employees.

In this regard, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the Instruction on the mechanism of cross-sector cooperation for the primary prevention of child welfare risks.

The document provides for the exchange of information between authorities and the means of collection and analysis of child welfare data to prevent the occurrence of risks and for prompt intervention.

The persons responsible for the systematic monitoring of child welfare will be designated according to the age and educational institution attended by children.

These may be: family doctor, nurse, educator, preschool institution manager, class supervisor, or head teacher.

Child welfare assessment will be made by completing regular schedules include welfare areas, actions to be taken to provide support and the need to involve other authorities to improve the situation of the child.

The new mechanism will make it possible to identify child victims and potential victims of violence, neglect, exploitation and trafficking, as well as providing appropriate assistance to children.

Such an approach refers not only to children in classical risk situations, such as single-parent families or parents abroad, but concerns all children. Thus, all children should be provided with superior services in terms of the welfare and health of their children.

In March-July 2017 the Instruction was piloted in 8 localities, comprising a total of over 8800 people, of which about 6000 children.
