The teachers and professors lecturing in higher education institutions will have a state-guaranteed minimum salary.

The Government is to enact a draft decision in this respect, at its today’s sitting.

Thus, a university lecturer is to get a minimum salary of 3,000 lei, while a rector – at least 6,500 lei.

The wages may be raised by a 1.5 coefficient if the institution budget affords it. The Cabinet will also consider raising the students’ merit scholarships.
