Government's Reintegration Commission met for the first time in two years
Prime Minister Pavel Filip held today the meeting of Government's Reintegration Commission, were latest developments with Transnistria were reviewed, officials also spoke of the current problems tied to Transnistria and the projects meant to offer financial assistance to people living in the country's East.
During the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Lesnic presented all actions taken by all negotiation platforms since January 1 2017 and to present time, of the dynamics registered in the sectoral working groups, outlining the 8 priorities mentioned in the Berlin plus package and results gained during the implementation of the five protocols signed in 2017.
Here were mentioned several issues encountered in the implementation of the decisions taken together with Transnistria.
It was mentioned that authorities from Moldova insisted within the negotiations for another two priorities: keeping an eye on the Security Zone and ensure that human rights are respected in Transnistria, stating the necessity to further advance the implementation of DCFTA mechanisms in Transnistria, as well as fortify the institutional capabilities of the Reintegration Policy Bureau.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip highlighted the necessity to mobilize efforts in making the existing dialogue platforms more dynamic, concentrate on finding solutions for key issues in the negotiations agenda and for most urgent problems people from Transnistria encounter.
Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Lesnic presented a list of projects implemented by international donors in Transnistria, concentrating on potential vulnerabilities, mentioning the necessity of coordinating them with authorities from Republic of Moldova.
At the same time, between 2011-2017 wee implemented 10 programs for the country's reintegration having spend around 82 million lei for 309 projects meant to develop and modernize institutions from the education system, road and buildings rehabilitation, sewage reconstruction, street illumination, restoration and consolidation of local public services etc.
In 2018 through this program will be offered another 15 million lei, the decision being soon taken by the Government.
The last meeting of the Government's Reintegration Commission took place on March 1 2016.
