The corruption can not be fought in three months and investigating important cases can take years. The statement was made by the head of the National Anti-corruption Division in Romania, Laura Kovesi, on the investigation of the Moldovan banking system fraud.
"I don't know very well the present case. We, as well, have cases that are not resolved for 3-4 years. It depends on how the evidence is managed. The issue of the duration of cases is present in our country as well, don't expect for corruption cases to be solved in three months" , said Laura Kovesi.
DNA chief, Laura Kovesi also said that Romania is ready to share its experience in combating corruption while taking part in the first Moldovan-Romanian justice forum.
According to Moldovan authorities, so far, more than 700 million lei have been recovered from the stolen money. 600 million dollars have been identified by the company Kroll.
