“Holiday dialysis” becomes increasingly popular in Moldova. Prophylaxis involving the stimulation of kidney functions is in high demand among foreigners and Moldovans returning home. 

The first center opened in Moldova in 2016. After three years, there are now 40 centers with patients from Russia, Italy, Romania, Turkey, Israel and Germany.

Patients with renal failure undergoing dialysis treatment are dependent on the device performing their renal functions. Dialysis is vital to them and should be done two or three times a week. The consequences can be fatal in case of interruption, warns the doctors.

At the Centers of Excellence in Dialysis in Moldova, Moldovans established abroad and people who have an insurance policy benefit from free treatment. The others have to pay 2800 lei for three dialysis sessions.
