Iasi-Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline, priority in Romania - Moldova bilateral dialogues
Romanian enterprise Transgaz will own the Iasi-Chisinau gas pipeline after wining the contest in return for 100 million EUR investment in its construction. The topic was approached today by Premier Pavel Filip and his counterpart Viorica Dăncilă.
According to the Premier Filip, Transgaz has confirmed its intention to contribute to Moldovan energy security which allows the country to access diverse natural gas sources.
"Regarding investment aspect, we welcomed the arrival of the Transylvania bank on the Moldovan market and natural gas enterprise TransGaz in Chisinau", said Prime Minister Pavel Filip.
The Iasi-Ungheni-Chisinau gas pipeline is not only priority of Chisinau and Bucharest but also a major project on the EU agenda within the Eastern Dimension policy, declares the Romanian Premier, Viorica Dăncilă.
"The Iasi-Ungheni-Chisinau project reconfirms Romania's role as the main partner of Moldova consistently in the European integration effort, including in relation to the effective connection to the European space," said Romania's Prime Minister Viorica Dăncilă.
The two dignitaries also discussed the Moldova' domestic reforms and actions in external plan.
Pavel Filip and Viorica Dăncilă announced that a joint meeting of the Government will be organized soon in Chisinau, where the investment and collaboration projects will be discussed.
Additionally, the Romanian Investors Association was inaugurated in Chisinau which gathered companies in various areas such as construction, trade, logistics, financial-banking and pharmaceutical sectors.
The two prime ministers also participated in the Siret-Prut-Nistru Euroregion Forum, which united Moldovan districts and three counties in Romania. At the meeting, the dignitaries pointed out that the partnership provided Moldovan localities constant supports including financial ones from Romania.
