In Vitro Fertilization provided for free to insured couples in Moldova
Infertile and insured couples can request a free in vitro fertilization procedure. The announcement was made by Health Minister Ruxandra Glavan, at a press conference, according to IPN.
The free IVF procedure may be requested only by couples who have health insurance. They will submit the file to the Commission staff assessment, which operates at the Centre for Reproductive Health and Medical Genetics Institute of Mother and Child
About 140,000 couples are infertile in Moldova, and in 3,000 cases the problem can be solved by in vitro fertilization.
The National Health Insurance Company will provide 31,700 lei to this effect. The amount covers the costs.
At the same press briefing, Ruxandra Glavan highlighted the new tariffs for medical services, reiterating that the rises will not affect citizens who have health insurance.
