"A positive contact with certain results. We managed to meet all key officials of Germany.I met the spokespersons for foreign policy, both of Christian Democrats and Social Democrats. In government institutions we had very good discussions with the Foreign Ministry, the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Economic Development.
At the Chancellery of Mrs. Merkel and at the Office of the President of Germany, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, we also had discussions focused on a few subjects; in fact, these topics are of major interest to Moldova, first of all we talked about how we can develop and to intensify bilateral dialogue. We have expressed gratitude to our friends in Germany for the extremely valuable and important support they provide through projects at kindergarten level, aqueducts and sewer projects, projects in the field of medicine. We have requested to increase the financial volume that Germany offers to Moldova.
We discussed everything about the European future of Moldova, our European agenda, the challenges, the key issues on this agenda. In the context of the Association Council to be held in early May in Brussels and I am glad that on this occasion, we have found an openness of the German partners to be engaged in a dialogue not just on current issues.
We also discussed regional security, but also the Euro-Atlantic area, especially with representatives of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. I think we can continue to rely on even greater support from the German ministry so that our capacity for resilience to external attacks and developments in our country will be much higher ", said Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration , Iurie Leanca.
In turn, the German interlocutors welcomed the reforms undertaken by the Chişinău Executive, insisting on their continuation and the holding of free and fair elections in the autumn of 2018.
