Justice Minister: Magistrates must regain citizens' confidence by promoting balanced, fair decisions and eradicating corruption
Magistrates must regain citizens' confidence by promoting balanced, fair decisions and eradicating corruption. It is the message of the Justice Minister, Victoria Iftodi, sent to the General Assembly of the Judges.
"We expect and demand that judges honor their obligations in strict accordance with law and deontological norms. The success of reforms depends on your commitment to the service of justice, "said Victoria Iftodi.
Magistrates confirm that reforms in the judiciary must continue.
The Ministry of Justice announced earlier this year that the system needs a comprehensive reform, and that's because the justice reform strategy adopted seven years ago has not yielded results.
In particular, judges will be appointed on the basis of objective examinations, the courts will be divided on cases, and the jurisdiction of the Supreme Court of Justice may be modified.
The General Assembly of the Judges brought together about 300 magistrates.
