Labor Minister: We head toward a more transparent, fairer pension system
The new pension system to be enacted from April is necessary in Moldova, and all the beneficiaries will gain from it.
The law comes to help and motivate the citizens to work and to build a future at home. The guests of a talk show on Publika TV voiced these opinions yesterday.
Labor, Social Protection and Family Minister Stela Grigoraş said the pension reform came to insure fair conditions for all the citizens, and its positive impact is long-term: "This Government displayed courage because there are different opinions, critique. We head toward a more transparent, fairer pension system and we want it to be sustainable in the near future.”
From April 1, the pensions will be established according to a new computing formula as the people having retired in the period 2001-2008 will get higher pensions.
The minimum retirement pension will rise from 961 lei to 1026 lei (about $50) a month.
