Maia Sandu announces new partnership action plan Moldova - NATO
This year, our country will negotiate a new partnership action plan Moldova - NATO, PM Maia Sandu announced after the meeting with U.S. National Security Advisor John Bolton.
"We discussed the support and strengthening of the security and defense system. Sectors that have direct impact on ensuring the independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic of Moldova. The assistance to modernize the defense and security sector reaches about $ 15 million annually.
This year we will negotiate a new individual partnership action plan Moldova-NATO and we will also move to the second part of the defense capacity building initiative for Moldova. In this regard, US support is very important to us. Only in this way can we contribute to the consolidation of military capabilities and to the strengthening of the national security system, capable of managing both conventional and hybrid threats. Only in this way can we become a stable partner, which not only consumes, but also offers security, "said Maia Sandu.
"We will cooperate with the military, cyber security. I think the visit to Washington will give you the opportunity to see more about these practices. Each country decides with whom to cooperate militarily. We had good military cooperation in Moldova, we do the same in the US. We hope that Moldova will make its own decisions for its own good, "said John Bolton.
