Dozens of employees of the Environment Ministry and of Moldsilva forestry agency have planted trees on a 4-ha area today, as part of the Green Day national campaign.

"It’s very good to have transferred this action from spring to fall, many more samplings get enrooted: up to 80 %," explained Environment Minister Valeriu Munteanu.

The Green Day campaign unfolds in all the districts, as the Ecologic State Fund allotted $100.000 to buy seedlings.

Most trees were planted in the districts of Basarabeasca, Nisporeni and in Chișinău municipality.

The Ministry plans to expand the forest-covered areas by planting 2,500 ha annually.
