A 46-year-old man from the central district of Anenii Noi faces a jail term of 12 years for beating up and setting fire to his female partner. 

The drunk man had a quarrel with the woman in April. That led to a fight and then he dragged her into the courtyard, sprinkled her with fuel and set her ablaze.

The 35-year-old victim was rushed to the hospital with severe burns.

Prosecutors also found that the perpetrator chained their daughter to a bed, suspecting she might have stolen money.
